A large supply of health and hygiene products, collected last spring in the USA, has finally reached its destination in South Africa. The happy recipients seen at left are students at Madiba Combined School in Mafikeng, Northwest Province, where an Intergenerational Gathering was held October 19.
The supplies were collected in Erie, Pennsylvania, USA, by our partner organization UECDC, with sponssorship help provided by IRC Corporation, an innovative plastics recycler in Erie, and Wabtec Corp., which does business in both the United States and South Africa.

Each of the approximately 250 bags included hard-to-obtain items such as face masks, anti-bacterial hand and toilet seat wipes, hand sanitizers, bath soaps, shower gels, body lotions, hair shampoos, shoe polishes, tooth brushes, tooth paste, boy’s underpants or girl’s panties, sanitary pads, lip balms and skipping ropes.

The shipping process was much delayed by customs inspections and other issues. Plans are being made to streamline the process in 2024. Therefore, cash donations are still being sought. Please click one of the buttons below for details.
Environmental Awareness and Activism:
Earth Day, 26 April 2024
Earth Day is an annual celebration that honours the achievements of environmental movement and
also raises awareness on the need to protect the earth for the next generations. Earth Day is
celebrated annually on 22 April. The theme for Earth Day 2024 focused on Planet vs Plastics. In
honour of this day, Hennops Revival NGO hosted Earth Day activity on Friday, 26 April 2024. The
location was Hennops river which runs along Meerpark Station in Centurion. We joined them in
support of environmental protection. Youth came from local schools accompanied by their teachers
and actively invested their energy and efforts in removing plastic waste along Hennops river. We
collected 81 bags in a period of 2 hours. Protecting the environment truly matters to everyone!!!
Second Intergenerational Dialogue, 19 October 2023
On 19 April 2023 we launched the 1st Intergenerational Dialogue with the theme; “Learningfrom the past, the present, and shaping the future of the youth”. Elders and youth participated. This was our version of “Walking in Black History,” which our counterparts at Urban Erie Community Development Corporation (UECDC) in the USA do annually.
On 19 October 2023 we hosted the 2nd Intergenerational Dialogue with the theme “Digital Technologies For Future Work and Entrepreneurship” with special focus on unemployed youth.
Our Facebook page has been unusually active since hosting this event with, more and more unemployed youth enquiring about opportunities presented on the day. This is a great sign that purpose is being served. 2024 here we come with bigger and better to touch even more lives.
